CIHR Research Chair: Gender, Work and Health: Working Well

With the Canadian Institutes of Heath Research Chair in Gender, Work and Health, Prof. Tamara Daly has gained valuable time to do research, attend conferences, give talks in the community and seek out funding for her research teams. The aim of the Chair is to advance research linking the gendered organization of work, particularly in long-term care and community agencies, to health outcomes of paid and unpaid workers.

There are 3 objectives:

  • Train and mentor master’s and doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and research team members
  • Integrated Knowledge Translation involving community partners in research throughout the process and developing strong community networks.
  • Research Leadership & Advancing Knowledge through recognition at York University, presentations at national and international conferences, and field research in long-term care home nationally and internationally.
